The original concept was started by Brenda Hill right here in Calgary out of her frustration of trying to find sugar free/no sugar added products that her diabetic husband could enjoy. The lack of availability of products led her to investigate the retail opportunity to make it easier for diabetics and health conscious individuals to locate sugar free/no sugar added and low carbohydrate foods.

Diabetic Depot expanded with a franchise opening in January 2004 in Northwest Calgary by Angela Frey. Diabetic Depot's Bakery grew out of this concept in February 2004, allowing all locations to provide fresh baked goods such as brownies, cakes, pies, cookies etc. to their customers.

We continue to grow and provide new products to our customers at every opportunity. Diabetic Depot provides much needed access to items that were previously unavailable to people that are seeking the benefits of health and wellness. It is most rewarding to hear customer comments such as "I am so glad you are here, you have made my life easier".
